Avion Resources is a Canadian-based exploration and development company focused on strategic acquisitions in Africa. Avion has built a team of highly qualified geologists and engineers, as well as a strong operational team, with the goal of becoming a gold producing company in 2009. Avion recently purchased a 100 square kilometre land and mine package in Mali, which contains the Tabokoto mine and the Segala project. Drill testing to confirm and expand the previous operator's life-of-mine resources and to test new targets is underway with two drills. In addition, Avion has a gold-focused exploration project in Ethiopia with a land position of more than 5,700 square kilometres. Avion is a public company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol AVR.

TORONTO, ONTARIO- Avion Resources Corp. (TSX VENTURE:AVR) (”Avion” or the “Corporation”) is pleased to announce that it has acquired an 80% interest in the Tabakoto and Segala gold projects (the “Mali Projects”) located in Mali, West Africa from Nevsun Africa (Barbados) Ltd., a subsidiary of Nevsun Resources Ltd. (”Nevsun”). The remaining 20% interest in the Mali Projects belongs to the Government of Mali.
